Multicoloured Freshwater Blister Pearl Necklace
Multicoloured Freshwater Blister Pearls
Vibrant colourful lacquered freshwater blister pearls. Lovingly crafted randomly strung necklace to wear with any summer garment. Bright and cheerful to lighten any day.
Freshwater Pearls are cultured by the fish farmers in China. They cultivate the pearls by placing small pieces of live tissue into Mussel shells where they continue to grow. Mainly Freshwater Pearls grow in the shells and adopt the colour of the inside of the shell but many misshapen pearls are dyed which is the case here. Blister pearls are various shapes and sizes but that is the way they have naturally grown attached to the inside wall of the shell. They have been lacquered to give them their vibrant colours.
This necklace measures 17.5" (44cm) long. I have added a gold plated "Nickel Free" clasp and extension chain to comply with EU regulations.
