Strong rich orange/red through to clear quartz designed to show its fiery tones. Carnelian blends well with natural freshwater pearls to wear with autumnal garments.
Natural freshwater pearls are cultured by the fish farmers in China. Mainly hosted by mussel shells the farmers take small pieces of live tissue from one shell and insert it into another where it continues to grow until the fishermen harvest the crop. Natural freshwater pearls come in various shapes and sizes.
I have made this Carneiian and Pearl necklace using strong rich orange/red genuine carnelian gemstone tube beads and spaced them with rice shaped white freshwater pearls. The necklace measures 46cm (18") long and I have added a gold plated "Nickel Free" clasp and extension chain to comply with EU directives, so that the it can be lengthened if required.
