Natural freshwater pearls are cultured by the fish farmers in China. Mainly hosted by mussel shells the farmers take small pieces of live tissue from one shell and insert it into another where it continues to grow until the fishermen harvest the crop. Natural freshwater pearls come in various shapes and sizes.
Rose Quartz is a transluscent pink variety of crystalline quartz. Its colourisation has been attributed to traces of titanium. It is normally sourced from Madagascar, Brazil and Russia
I have designed these earrings for a lady who likes to wear delicate things. Or even a young daughter reaching an adult age that requires a special gift.
I have used rose quartz tube shaped beads together with rice shaped freshwater pearls and tiny silver plated spacer beads between. I attached them to silver plated "nickel free" earring posts and scrolls to comply with EU directives.
