Banded agate is created naturally when this chalcedony quartz forms layers in a variety of colours and textures inside a host rock. The result from this nodular formation is what looks like age rings of an ancient tree trunk.
Black onyx is a dyed microcrystaline quartz, that was naturally, more often brown or grey in colour when originally mined. The stones are highly polished and not only look stunning, they accentuate the banded agate.
This necklace measures 27" (68.5cm) long. I have added three large flat oval agate beads to 6mm round onyx beads. I have spaced these with black crystals and also silver plated stardust beads to add to its glamour.
The toggle style fastener is easy to use, and is also silver plated. All the silver plated beads, and fastener are "nickel free" to comply with EU directives.
