Banded agate is created naturally when this chalcedony quartz forms layers in a variety of colours and textures, inside a host rock. The result from this nodular formation is what looks like age rings from an ancient tree trunk.
Black Onyx is dyed microcrystaline quartz, that was naturally more often brown or grey in colour when originally mined. The stones are highly polished , and they not only look stunning, but accentuate the banded agate to make this enchanting necklace.
This pink banded agate necklace measures 28.5" (72cm) long and I have used four large twisted oval agate beads, plus 6mm round onyx beads. Also added are black faceted crystal beads and silver plated stardust beads, to enhance the design.
I have fitted a silver plated toggle style clasp for easy fastening, which along with the silver plated stardust beads, are "nickel free" to comply with EU directives.
