Black onyx is a dyed microcrystaline quartz, that is naturally, more often brown or grey in colour when originally mined. The stones are highly polished, heat treated and dyed to enhance their appearance. They look stunning when worn with anything from a little black dress for that evening out, or even a clerical suit.
I have designed this necklace using a mixture of round and rondelle shaped beads, threaded alternately with tiny silver plated spacer beads between.
The necklace measures 18" (45cm) long and I have finished it with a silver plated "nickel free" clasp and extension chain to comply with EU directives.
