Azurite Chrysocolla is a soft, deep blue with flashes of rich malachite green. A copper mineral produced by weathering of copper ore deposits. The blue of azurite is exceptionally deep and clear, and for that reason the mineral has tended to be associated with the deep blue colour of winter skies.
I have made this necklace using 8mm round and 8mm rondel shaped beads and strung them alternately with a tiny silver plated spacer bead in between. This necklace measures 18.5" (47cm) long and I have fitted an additional extension chain 2" long. I have used "Nickel Free" Silver plated clasp and extension to comply with EU directives.
